Below are a few methods of training that we offer at Reach Fitness Training. Combined with nutrition, lifestyle management and guidance from our trainers, your fitness goals will be reached. Guaranteed!

Resistance Training (Weight Training)

Resistance training is a form of strength training in which each effort is performed against a specific opposing force generated by resistance (i.e. resistance to being pushed, squeezed, stretched or bent). Exercises are isotonic if a body part is moving against the force. Exercises are isometric if a body part is holding still against the force. Resistance exercise is used to develop the strength and size of skeletal muscles. Properly performed, resistance training can provide significant functional benefits and improvement in overall health and well-being.

It is documented that the increase of muscle mass, do to resistance training, increases the speed of ones metabolism. Simply put, increased muscle mass will burn calories while you go about your everyday life. Bonus!

HIIT – High-Intensity Interval Training

High-Intensity Interval Training is an exercise strategy that is intended to improve performance with short training sessions. A HIIT session involves a warm-up period, several short, maximum-intensity efforts separated by moderate recovery intervals, and a cool down period. The period of alternating effort and recovery intervals typically lasts a total of 30 minutes.

Studies have shown this method to be more effective at burning fat and maintaining, or building, muscle mass than high-volume, lower intensity aerobic work-outs.

Complex Training

Complex training is a form of sports training that integrates strength training, plyometrics and sport-specific movement to create functional strength. It consists of an intense strength exercise proceeded immediately by a plyometric exercise.

This form of training activates the nervous system and fast twitch muscle fibers at the same time. The strength exercise will activate the fast twitch muscle fibers (responsible for explosive power). The plyometric exercise stresses the muscle fibers that have been activated by the strength training exercise. During this activated state, the muscles have a tremendous ability to adapt. This method of training can teach slow twitch muscle fibers (used for muscular endurance) to perform like fast twitch fibers. As complicated as this method of training may sound it is actually quite usable and effective amongst a wide variety of exercisers.

Cardio-Kickboxing, Boxing and Kickboxing Training

The techniques used during the sessions, using conventional training pads, are based on boxing and kickboxing techniques which provide both resistance and cardiovascular benefits to its participants. This form of workout is becoming evermore popular as people are realizing the benefits (both physical and mental) of certain martial arts training techniques. In addition to a great workout it is a highly efficient way of relieving stress and having fun.
